OBEDIENCE

Obidence for rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and and stubbornness as iniquity and idolatry, because you have rejected the word of  the Lord,He has rejected you from being King

King Saul was a like a top gun pilot spinning out of control. He was losing his kingdom to David and losing the favor of God and the people. It began as compromises. Eventually he was given a final test to obey the voice of God fully. He was instructed to kill the Amalekites completely but failed to do so. The prophet Samuel delivered a harsh word to King Saul, Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you from being king.

Saul obeyed partially, but not fully. That partial obedience led to his removal as king of Israel and his calling from God. Why did Saul do such a thing? I feared the people and obeyed their voice (1 Samuel 15:24).

Sauls fear made him more afraid of the people and what they thought than God Himself. Does this sound familiar ? At the root of Sauls disobedience was stubbornness, rebellion and the fear of losing control. That fear led to partial obedience and the loss of his throne. In Gods eyes, partial or delayed obedience is disobedience.

How many of us are losing Gods favor, protection and blessing due to disobedience? How many of us are so eager to control people and circumstances that we fail to walk in obedience to Gods Word? Saul provides a great lesson for all of us. The need to control things around us can prevent us from receiving ALL the goodness, the chesed, that God has for us.

Control put us on the throne of our lives as rebels, not God. When we rebel by disobeying God and lose His favor, the only thing left is witchcraft to control others. Stubbornness is as idolatry because we worship our own intellect and human wisdom.

Today, take inventory of your control tendency, your intellectual stubbornness that resist the Word of God, and your rebellious nature that seek to manipulate, dominate or intimidate others for that is what witchcraft is all about.

Ask God if you are being obedient to His Word and whatever He has called you to do, and avoid losing His favor for disobedience, delayed obedience or partial obedience. Meditate on Gods Word day and night so you can learn to obey it. To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams (1 Samuel 15:22).

God is seeking your love for Him and obedience to His Word far more than any material offering you can give Him. Let God be in control of your life as you surrender ALL to Him. Let go and let God.
